How it works

CTC is the total package an employer spends on your employment. The calculator removes variable pay from regular gross salary, then estimates employee PF, professional tax, and income tax to show a planning figure for monthly take-home pay.

Worked example: For a ₹12 lakh CTC with ₹60,000 variable pay, 45% basic salary, PF, and the new regime selected, the calculator estimates the regular monthly gross before deductions and displays the resulting in-hand estimate.

Frequently asked questions

What is CTC?+

CTC means Cost to Company. It can include fixed salary, employer PF contributions, bonus, insurance, and benefits, so it is not the same as monthly in-hand pay.

Why is in-hand salary lower than CTC?+

In-hand salary is reduced by employee deductions such as provident fund, professional tax, and estimated income tax. Variable pay may also be paid separately.

Is bonus included in monthly in-hand salary?+

A bonus can be part of CTC but may be paid annually or only after performance conditions. The calculator treats the entered variable pay as excluded from regular monthly gross.

Are the tax and PF estimates exact?+

No. They are simplified planning estimates. Your actual payslip depends on tax declarations, deductions, state rules, employer policy, and payroll timing.
